Belina Partner with Womentum CIC to Empower Women Through Wellbeing and Support

Belina GRoW CIC are excited to be working with Womentum CIC, a community interest company based in the heart of Leicester that offer a range of services from mindfulness to meditation, recreational adventures, arts and crafts and coffee mornings to empower women to come together and support each other. Belina GRoW spoke with Mumtaz Patel, Womentum CIC’s passionate leader, about her aims and goals for her ambitious movement which is rooted in personal experience and a deep cultural understanding.

Mumtaz said “The aim of Womentum CIC is to empower women to break free from unspoken barriers and embrace their individual potential and this partnership is not just about individual growth; it’s about weaving a supportive and inclusive community that transcends boundaries and empowers women to unlock their full potential.

“As more women come together to share their stories, insights, and experiences, we are building a powerful network of resilient individuals who uplift and inspire one another. This collective strength contributes to a greater movement, fostering change and shaping a more equitable world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive. I am inviting women from all of walks of life to join us.”

Growing up in a close-knit community, Mumtaz was surrounded by the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” This sense of communal support was central to her upbringing, where traditions were cherished and passed down through generations. However, Mumtaz also witnessed how these traditions, while well-intentioned, sometimes imposed subtle forms of control that hindered personal growth. The expectations of maintaining cultural and spiritual teachings often overshadowed individual needs, leading to environments where women’s voices and aspirations were muted.

Having worked with various organisations and grassroots projects across Leicester, Mumtaz encountered a striking reality—many women, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, faced similar unspoken barriers. These barriers, deeply rooted in cultural norms, were seldom addressed openly. Yet, they profoundly impacted the lives of women, preventing them from fully realising their potential and contributing to their communities in meaningful ways.

Womentum CIC seeks to challenge these norms and create a space where women can reflect on their shared experiences and explore new paths toward personal growth. The initiative is not just about challenging the status quo; it is about honouring cultural heritage while embracing the evolving needs of the individual. It is about finding a balance that allows women to thrive both personally and within their communities.

Belina GRoW CIC, known for its dedication to supporting women’s empowerment through various initiatives, has recognised the importance of Womentum CIC and are pleased to be supporting the initiative to help support women in Leicester where they have been actively supporting women into training and employment through the Jobs 22’s Community Investment Fund which is part of the Restart Scheme. Liz Sewell FIEP, Belina GRoW’s Founder and Managing Director said “We are pleased to be supporting Womentum CIC in their mission and to help create a community where women can come together to share their stories, support one another, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.”

Mumtaz is now calling on women from across Leicester to join her in this vital work. Whether you are seeking a space to reflect on your experiences or simply connect with like-minded individuals, Mumtaz’s project offers a welcoming and supportive environment. It is an opportunity to be part of a movement that not only empowers individual women but also strengthens the entire community by embracing diversity and promoting understanding.

If you are looking for a way to contribute to a more inclusive and empowering community, Mumtaz invites you to get in touch. “Together with Belina GRoW CIC we can build a brighter future where every woman’s voice is heard and celebrated.” Said Mumtaz.
