Belina GRoW CIC, a Community Interest Company dedicated to engaging and empowering women outside of the labour market, is thrilled to announce that they have been selected as a recipient of the Community Investment Fund, established by Jobs 22, funded by and part of the Restart Scheme.
Jobs 22, prime provider of employment services to those in East Central England via the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Restart Scheme, has announced the first three local organisations to receive funding from its Community Investment Fund. The Community Investment Fund, funded by and part of the Restart Scheme, has awarded a total of £211,156.00 to Belina GRoW CIC, Great Health Care and Living Without Abuse, who will all benefit from this initial funding round.
The Community Investment Fund was established to support local projects that create sustainable changes for individuals and their communities. Jobs 22 recognises the importance of community organisations in tackling the issues faced by residents in their local area and providing the necessary support to individuals to help them move closer to the job market.
The Belina GRoW team consists of experienced field-based advisers who are dedicated to helping women re-enter the workforce, with a particular focus on those facing significant barriers to employment, such as lone parents and long-term unemployed. Utilising Behavioural Insight techniques, they strive to make a meaningful impact through intensive confidence-building, motivation, and employability sessions for parents and creating a supportive community programme that offer direct pathways for women seeking employment, training, and volunteering opportunities. Through the Community Investment Fund Project they aim to engage with 90 people and six community organisations and develop unique partnerships with Children’s Centres, Employability organisations, Leicester College, and Adult Education, bringing about transformative changes in the lives of countless women.

Liz Sewell FIEP, Founder and Director of Belina GRoW CIC , said: “We are immensely grateful to Jobs 22 for their generous support through the Community Investment Fund which is funded by the DWP’s Restart Scheme. This funding will be a game-changer for the women we work with and will mean we can create a nurturing and empowering community programme that opens doors to employment, training and volunteering opportunities for mothers who have been outside the labour market. We are excited to collaborate with many organisations across Leicester to make a meaningful impact on the lives of so many people and strengthen our community partnerships. Jobs 22’s commitment to making a difference in Leicester aligns perfectly with our mission to empower women and families, and we are excited about the positive changes this partnership will bring.”

Ayden Sims, CEO of Jobs 22, said: “We are proud to be able to make a meaningful contribution to the organisations and individuals making a difference in our community. This funding will help continue this important work and help those in need across the East Central region where we deliver the Restart Scheme. We are delighted to support these three organisations and look forward to seeing the impact of these inspiring projects in the coming months.”

Stanislas Faure, Director of Employer Services and Social Impact Programmes, said: “We are proud to launch our initial wave of grants to support these charities and their projects. Our aim is not only to help individuals, but also to empower entire communities.
