Belina GRoW CIC is thrilled to announce that Audrey Bodman FIEP, is joining the team!
Belina GRoW is a new Community Interest Company dedicated to developing projects that engage and empower women who are currently outside the labour market. Their mission is to conduct research and provide support that will help women transition into work, education, and training and ultimately create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Audrey is the founder of Outshine Telephone Training & Resources, a Bristol-based training and coaching company specialising in employer engagement, sales, and customer service. She’s been an established freelance trainer and coach for over 30 years, beginning her employability career as a job club leader in the 1990’s before going on to set up her own business. Audrey will be supporting the GRoW community as a volunteer, offering a range of specialist employability and customer service skills training, as well as topics such as personal branding to help them get ready for work.
Speaking of the appointment Audrey said: “What I love about this programme is that it is all about empowering women and that is something I am really passionate about. Having been a lone parent to two young children (though aged 30 and 28 now), I understand the struggles they face and also the other unique challenges women often experience. I am delighted to have this opportunity to help give hope and courage to women to make a positive change in their lives.
“As well as working with GRoW’s participants I am also looking forward to sharing my stories to inspire my fellow GRoW Team members. I often find when working with women that there is a connection and that when women see other women growing it is inspiring for those who want to get back to work. Belina GRoW has a long history of working with women from disadvantaged backgrounds and women from ethnic minority groups, which really resonates with me. It is the only programme of its kind that specialises in empowering women and if it had been available to me years ago when I wanted to get back on the work ladder I’m sure I would have found it much easier to get the hope and courage I needed to take that step. It’s a fantastic programme and it’s great now to be able to contribute by giving my time, support and expertise as a volunteer. Volunteering is something I have been involved with for a long time, but more recently I have started to focus more on where I can make the most difference and have worked with homeless people and the unemployed. Working specifically with women is something I haven’t done before but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s great now to have the chance to work with the Belina GRoW Community and help them achieve their mission to create a more inclusive and equitable society.”
