Belina GRoW CIC Head of Research, Laura Dewar, to attend the opening panel of the new Centre for Employability Excellence

Established by the IEP, The aim of the Centre for Employability Excellence is to provide a comprehensive platform for research and good practice, open to all sectors of the employability profession. A simple resource that will help us all to work together, encourage open discussion, share our insights, and develop the quality of employability services globally. 

Speaking about the launch of the CfEE Laura Dewar said

“It is essential for there to be a place where all the research is gathered and accessible. Belina Grow CIC has been established to model best practice on engaging and supporting more disadvantaged women into work and to provide evidence based research. Having a place where that evidence can be shared is such a bonus. It means we will all get better faster.”
 
The vision is that the Centre will collect, catalogue, identify, and signpost access to original research and best practice, providing valuable resources for researchers, commissioners, policy makers, employability delivery organisations and employability professionals. Their first practical goal is to create an index that helps users to identify the original sources and the resources most relevant, informative, and useful to themselves. 
 
This work will encourage the application and support the work of academics and institutions across the UK and overseas, helping to link quality assurance and continuous improvement to best practice and learning, so that anyone involved in employability will be able to provide the most effective possible support. It will also contribute to commissioning and the delivery of high quality, effective programmes and support open discussion on the complex questions that surround any employability delivery. 
 
Ensuring the Centre for Employability Excellence operates in an inclusive and open way with a large group of interested and engaged UK and International stakeholders is a key guiding principle. And as an organisation we are delighted to be in on the ground floor.

The Virtual Roundtable will be hosted by Scott Parkin FIEP, Group Chief Executive and a good friend to the GRoW Programme, and David Imber FIEP, who shares our passion for evidence based human focused work They will be joined by an esteemed group of academics, researchers, and senior employability stakeholders from the UK, Australia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden and United States, representing a wide range of international universities and organisations including Deakin University and Monash University (Australia), University of Vaasa (Finland), Folkuniversitetet (Sweden), Anderson University (South Carolina, US), Eesti Töötukassa (Estonia), Disability Employment Australia, Nous Group and Apprenticeship Employment Network (Australia).

UK Universities joining will include Sheffield Hallam, Leeds Trinity, Derby and Portsmouth, and organisations World Association of Public Employment Services WAPES, Association of Colleges, DWP, Mesma, Belina GRoW CIC and Institute for Employment Studies with further representatives from Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of Edinburgh and University of Strathclyde Glasgow joining in future discussions
